My kitchen cupboards are in desperate need of a good clean out and the timing is perfect since our counter tops are done. So far I’ve found four (4) cans of tomatoes with green chilies and two cans of black beans, with no one remembering what recipe these and other mystery ingredients were purchased for. (We won’t talk about two cans of chick peas for hummus or 3 big boxes of oatmeal.)
I consolidated three boxes of baking soda, two of corn starch (and put the unopened third box downstairs in the overflow pantry), two jars of molasses and tossed five very old bottles of open ketchup and three of mustard.
These cans and boxes of pasta are waiting to go back in the cupboard (or donate if we can’t figure out what to do with them).
One family member believes in saving every plastic tub while the other feels one shelf is enough. I matched the tops and bottoms and pitched the orphans, something I do every few months. It looks so nice when done!
All the cupboards and drawers are done now except the top cupboard with glasses and mugs and the bottom pantry cupboards. The glasses don’t need much, just get everything out and wipe down the shelves and doors. The pantry shelves take longer.
Today was supposed to be the The Day To Finish! but that didn’t take George into account. When George wants petting he sits on my desk and cries at me, these sad sounding, hollow meows that break my heart. So we sit together. That means I sit and do something (like this post) and George puts his paws on my arms and purrs or sleeps. Life is good when you are George.

Of course George got his way! He is a cat. We are currently cleaning the basement.
