I was photographing new products to list on Amazon this morning and George decided to get in the act. I prop my Michigan Mapleworks boards against the banister spindles where they are just the right height and have good light. George likes to peek around and help.
Sometimes he’s gotten his paws in the pictures. This time he tried to play with a copper maple leaf magnet from Keweenaw Gem & Gift. That fuzzy white and black is his head. I was fast but he’s faster…a lot faster.
This is not new behavior. Way back in 2002 Monica helped me photograph eBay stuff outside.
In fact the cats have been very helpful with my online sales business. Amanda tested gravity with Baccarat goblets; Lucky made sure my photo tent was full of cat fur; Billy Bob helped me with videos.
That doesn’t even begin to cover the companionship and furry purring when George sits on my lap while I work online or Billy Bob snuggles on top the bills to pay. (I wish he’d pay them too but that seems to remain my job.)
Their work isn’t done when I’m ready to quit. George has to keep tabs on the library books so we don’t get fines.
Right now George is on the desk behind my laptop screen. He’s half asleep and half bird watching and every couple minutes I pet him. It’s a wonderful way to work!
