George joined our family last May and caused immense grief to Billy Bob, who sees him as an interloper and obnoxious patron of the food dish and my attention. George also likes to chase the others, particularly Billy Bob, and even our calming collars don’t stop the occasional brouhaha. (You can read about the calming collars here. They really help.
Is this a precursor to a tentative peace?
Both cats like to sit on Dave’s fleece shirts if he leaves them on the bathroom counter. Normally this causes dissension and unhappy rumblings, but this morning both cats decided they could sit together.
First Billy Bob jumped up and sat down to meditate on world affairs, then George joined him. Every other time before, Billy Bob got disgusted and left. Not today.
Perhaps this portends peace? If not world peace, then at least peace between our two cats? Can a fuzzy shirt be the first tentative outbreak of friendship? A day without growling and chasing and biting and cats leaving in a huff would be a very nice start!
