Our friend Loren gave Dave and me a set of salt and pepper grinders a few years ago. These are a neat design, easy to use, small and see through plastic to easily note when refills are necessary. The handle goes back and forth, easy enough to use one-handed.
Our pepper mill broke. A piece came apart and fell out. Loren suggested I contact the company because they had replaced his ratchet mill when it broke last year. I found the “Contact Us” address on the Kuhn Rikon website and customer service rep Jill contacted me the next morning, asked for a photo so she could send a replacement.

Our mill is well-used! I expected we’d have to return it or pay for postage, but Jill didn’t mention either one. Would you believe two days later our new ratchet mill arrived? Free, post paid and no need to return the old one.
That is customer service and a guaranteed product!
